About Implant Dentistry Advances in Technology
Dr. Brueggen has been placing implants since 1976 and consequently, is a highly respected expert in the placement and restoration of dental implants from a single missing tooth to the entire upper and lower arch. He utilizes the most current treatment protocols that enable implant procedures to be more convenient, effective and affordable.
Any licensed dentist can place dental implants, but that doesn't necessarily mean you would want them to. Dr. Brueggen has extensive experience in the placement and reconstruction of dental implants and can provide you with the ideal dental implant solution that meets your personal goals. In most cases it requires two specialists, an oral surgeon and a prosthodontist, and occasionally a general dentist as well to accomplish similar results to those that Dr. Brueggen is trained and experienced in providing. This means that each step of your procedure, from the very first to the very last, is accomplished with an absolute understanding of the requirements of the next step, ensuring the most ideal outcome.
There are two main types of dental implants: Immediate Function Implants, where the implant and replacement teeth are set in one day and traditional dental implants, where the implant is placed at one time and the replacement teeth are placed a few months later. Dr. Brueggen is an expert in the placement and restoration of both immediate function implants and traditional dental implants. No one procedure is right for everyone.
Immediate Function Implants Immediate Function Implants can be used in many cases where the patient is missing one tooth, a few teeth and especially those who need total teeth replacement, as with Dr. Brueggen's All-On-4® procedure.
Traditional Dental Implants
The 2-stage process is more commonly used when only one or two teeth must be replaced and or when the most predictable possible result is more important than time or convenience. It is rarely used in full mouth reconstructions.
