Dental Implants What to Expect

What to Expect

The Consultation

Here’s what to expect during your first visit with us.

  1. Consultation
When you arrive, a treatment coordinator will take your medical history.  It’s important for Dr. Brueggen to know if you have diabetes, heart disease or any other health problems.
  2. Personalized Treatment Plan
Next, we will take a CT Scan.  The CT Scan enables Dr. Brueggen to see the height, width, and density of your jawbone.  He uses the CT Scan to determine where he will place the implants.  He can also determine if you have any infection in the gum or jawbone.
  3. Examination
Dr. Brueggen will examine your teeth, gums and perform an oral cancer examination.  He’ll also check for infection.
  4. Discussion and Action Plan
After the exam, Dr. Brueggen will discuss your CT Scan with you.  He’ll answer any questions you may have and help you decide what the best options are for you.

Procedure Timeline

Smile in One Day!

all-on-4-timeline

The first thing to remember when getting All-On-Four Dental Implants is not to worry. Dr. Brueggen and his team are highly skilled with dental implant procedures and strive to make this a positive and easy experience for you.

During Your Dental Implant Procedure

When you arrive to your appointment, you will be greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable staff. Once you are placed in your room, your conscious sedation will begin.

After your sedation has taken effect, your procedure will begin by gently removing any remaining teeth and preparing your mouth for the implants. Dr. Brueggen will then place the dental implants, the first step to your new smile. After he has placed the dental implants, Dr. Brueggen’s lab will begin the fabrication of your new teeth while you rest comfortably.

Once your new set of teeth is placed, Dr. Brueggen will check your bite and ensure accuracy of the placement. At this time, you will be able to look in the mirror and admire your beautiful new smile. This is an emotionally rewarding experience that often brings tears to our patients’ eyes and ours as well.

What to Expect

After Your Dental Implant Procedure

Dr. Brueggen will review your post procedure care with you and discuss what you can expect in your follow-up appointments. Recovery is minimal. Many of our patients are able to return to work the next day. After 6 months, your implants will have become integrated with your jaw bone. At that time you will get a new set of teeth. This set will be stronger than the previous set, and reinforced with titanium. You can also work with our lab technician to change the size , shape and color of your new set of teeth.
